CE Certification for Construction Machines
Part 1: Definition
Construction machinery are those machines involved in the process of soil and rock construction /road pavement construction and maintenance/mobile loading and unloading
Part 2 Classification
Construction machinery can be classified into following categories:
l Excavating machinery: Single-dipper excavator, rolling excavator, milling and cutting excavator, tunnel boring machine etc.
l Combination excavator and hauler: bulldozer, carry-scraper, loader, ballgrader etc.
l Cranes
l Compacting machinery： pneumatic tyre roller, vibrating compactor, rammer、tamper etc.
l Piling Machine：drilling machine、diesel pile hammer，vibrating pile-driver, quartering hammer
l Concrete machine： concrete mixer, concrete pump, concrete sprayer, concrete vibrator
l Road machinery: Levelling machine, Ballast Cleaner
l Rock drilling machine: drill jambo, air hammer drill, diesel rock drill etc.。
l Other construction machine: bridge girder erection machine and pneumatic tool

Part 4: Requirement
1. Satisfies the relevant essential health and safety requirements set out in Annex I
2. Prepare the technical file referred to in Annex VII, part A
3. provide, in particular, the necessary information, such as instructions, mechanical and electrical diagram
4. carry out the appropriate procedures for assessing conformity in accordance with Article 12
5. draw up the EC declCE Certification for Construction Machinesaration of conformity in accordance with Annex II, part 1, Section A and ensure that it accompanies the machinery
6. affix the CE marking in accordance with Article 16
Part 5 CE certification procedure for construction machine
Basic certification procedure is as follows：
Part 6:Safety notice for the CE certification of construction machinery
1. Special guards like ROPS should be provided for most construction machinery due to its weight, considering the static and working stability of machinery
2. If applicable operating cabinet with seat should provided. The cabinet may also be equipped with FOPS and device to reduce the noise emission from the machinery
3. For construction machinery with travel function, travel brake and quick brake should be equipped. Travel brake is designed according to EN ISO 3450:2011(with wheels) and ISO 10265(with caterpillar).Quick brake is designed according to EN 474-5:2006+A3: 2013
4. Addition safety information should be marked by means of written word or pictogram on the machine and described in the manual in detail. The location of the operating position should have a broad vision to all hazardous zone.
